Retreat: Holding Spaces for Others and Yourself (podcast)

Hello dear Guide,

Enjoy this podcast I made especially you that shares the lessons and stories I experienced as a retreat guide so you are better prepared for yours!

Here are some key lessons:

  • Setting clear boundaries for yourself for your own mental/emotional well-being.
  • Make sure you have your own self care practice/ritual set for your retreat
  • Why having an assistant or co-facilitator can be very helpful with dealing with the mental/emotional well-being of others.
  • Expect the unexpected so you are always ready (even outside of your space holding sessions)...and know there will probably something else around the corner too. ;)

Now, brainstorm...

  • What is your theme/teaching you are offering?
  • What are the activities you will doing with your group that you are NOT facilitating? (hiking, surfing, ziplining, shamanic journey with plant medicine..)
  • Who will be in your group?
  • Are there potential risks or challenges that might come with these scenarios and people?
  • If they do, how you can use it as a gift and make it a teaching moment?

With all that "worst case scenarios" worked through, go have fun with your group and feel confident knowing that you can handle anything that comes your way...
